Questions
How does Sombra work out the shade?
Sombra builds a 3D model of the ballpark, works out where the sun will be during each inning of your game from the date, the first pitch and the park's location, and checks whether the stands or the roof block it from your seat.
Why do some ballparks say "Approximate"?
Wrigley Field is modeled row by row from detailed measurements. Other ballparks use approximate geometry, with placeholder sections and rows, so their results are a good guide rather than an exact answer. The label says so.
How do I add a ticket?
On the Tickets tab, tap Add tickets. Bring the ticket in from an Apple Wallet pass file, a screenshot or photo of it, or the text of your confirmation email, and Sombra fills in the game and seat for you to check. You can also find your game and enter your seat yourself.
Does Sombra see my tickets?
No. Tickets are read on your iPhone and saved only there. Nothing is uploaded to us, and there's no account or server that holds your data. See the Privacy Policy.
Does Sombra cost anything?
No. Sombra is free.
How do I erase my data?
Open Profile and tap Erase my data. That removes your tickets, profile and settings from your iPhone. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Does Sombra account for the weather?
No. Sombra follows the sun, not the clouds. Weather, clouds and temporary structures aren't modeled, so on an overcast day your seat may be shadier than Sombra shows. Bring sunscreen anyway.
